Feeling On The Rocks (Audio CD)

Customer Review

"Sentiment on the Rocks" is Lou's fourth solo album - and her life's work could not be more heterogeneous. "For You" from 2003 was produced by Ralph Siegel and contained some potential Euro Vision songs: hymns, party songs, ballads, all very entertaining production, but unfortunately often with little clumsy beats, of which Ralph Siegel until now could not be solved completely. In 2004 he produced a perfectly German-language album, "I want to live", in which everything was - just advertised it was hardly the promo singles were not radiotauglichsten. After that it took total of 5 years, until 2009. Finally, a promotional single entitled "In the Labyrinth of Love" showed up and were presented at a radio broadcast and "your picture in my wallet" and "Tonight or Never". An official release did not exist, instead, Lou filled the heart's desire to include old hits that were released as the album "Blue Night" 2011. As much as it may sound it fun singing cheapest Keyboard Beats vermiesten the listening experience with almost all songs. With the reduced to the essentials, "Look at me not so" (La vie en rose) but also contained this album is a highlight of her career.
Finally, in 2013, but then released again, "In the Labyrinth of Love" as a single - and fortunately the 2009 version has been completely remade and sounded very pleasant. The new version of "Tonight or Never" (the first of Lou completely self-penned originals!) Has been completely revised compared to 2012 presented in the ARD version and released as a second single. Now you listen to the whole album, so one gets the impression of a successful pop album, which was produced really loving. A few weaknesses has it but then, so are, for example, the verses of "Do not lie" much stronger than the chorus and "So a man" does not do justice to the original of the unforgotten Margot Werner.
Nice contrast are strong "feeling on the Rocks", the cute "All the money in the world", the swinging "Do not reach the stars". Also "Thank You" from the album "I want to live" does not sound worse than the original in its new version.
Up to this point, it actually looks to 4 stars, but I have to deduct that the CD has no booklet, but only a little one-sided inlay informative and that it is clearly too short with 10 songs and less than 33 minutes of playing time a star. Nevertheless, I find that Lou is on the right track and I wish her to receive another album, in which she might write more songs themselves. For the cheap price definitely a buy recommendation from me!
