I have found in 2012 on the Love for image editing to photography and started with a Canon EOS 1100D Kit
Three months later, I got a great deal, an almost unused (70 trips) Canon EOS 600D + 17-40 L that I have expanded through various lenses, as well as accessories and took more than a year. But I was never satisfied with the noise performance of the Canon and somehow I was the also all too heavy for long trips. Well the system cameras are now so that they loose the water can the DSLR range and so I sold my entire early 2014. Canon equipment and wanted to actually buy the announced for February / March Olympus OMD EM10. Spring was approaching and I had no camera. After repeated insistence at Olympus and div. Dealers became apparent that EM would probably seem even 10 much later than April and I bought out of sheer desperation, the Fuji X-E1, of which I am still very excited. However, lenses are so expensive at Fuji that I considered buying my second camera, with a travel lens, because I change very reluctant lenses, dear, I have a second camera with me, which covers everything that I do not have on the one , Since I anyway wanted to get into the MFT system, the choice fell on the Lumix G6 with the 14-140 lens. And what can I say? After I had this camera and it has put their skills, I have the Fuji also sold again and keep the Panasonic G6.
--- My first impressions of the Lumix G6 by about 2,000 photos ---
In a nutshell, the feel is good and conveys no cheap impression. To complain will always find something, if you look long enough. But I must confess, I've nothing to complain about at the Panasonic G6, but really nothing. She seems really perfect to fit in my photographic needs and I'm beginning to wonder why I have not figured that out earlier. The case fits comfortably in your hand and because it is made of plastic, it is also nice and light and you fatigued Not when she has several hours there. I was last weekend at an autocross and stock car racing. I had the G6 initially 2h the tripod and after 3 hours in the hand. It was a blessing to work with these relatively light camera. A few meters away was someone with a Canon EOS 7D and the 70-300 L, the back grabbed his equipment after an hour together and a small bridge camera pulled out from his backpack. I could bring only a tired smile, but I was only around 1/3 of the weight of his equipment with me and had even after 3 hours no signs of fatigue. All I had in my camera bag case, were a few granola bars and apples, have a drink and a couple of memory cards, as well as replacement batteries. And I was happy to carry around not so much with me.
The continuous shooting speed is again based on the car race last weekend, just great. I shoot in RAW and basically nothing else. Even in RAW mode the camera I could elicit 6-7 frames per second and it was also very quickly ready for use again, after a short write operation, which is also limited to a perceived second. I have shot through in just under 5 hours at 8 heats with a few breaks, nearly 1600 photos. Autofocus packs immediately to the subject without pumping long as I had evil of the Fuji X-E1 in memory.
The 14-140 lens is one of the best travel objectives that I have ever had in my hands. The zoom range is good really for all photographic needs, no vignetting or blur, etc. I simply can not fault it. After all, it is in relation to small screen indeed a focal range of 28-280 and that's enough for everything you ever photographed. In auto racing, I could of the shut-off to the railway (about 20 feet) to get the cars more than full frame into the picture when I have to push on full blast. The stabilizer does a fantastic job. Every now and then one hears it a little bit when you have the camera in front of the nose and is in a quiet room, but that would complain about at the highest level. Who says that the Bar is too noisy, should send in his lens, because then so is not something wrong. Similarly, the lens is very well suited for landscapes and also for macros. I have a couple of macros added that were really fantastic, thanks to the large zoom, manual focus and FocusPeaking. As a low-cost upgrade for macro photography, I have now to 14-140 ordered me a Raynox DC250 Macro Conversion Lens. Facebook someone has the same combination tried with great success and it came out fantastic macros here. I can possibly even write my experiences to when I have made them.
All the other features of the G6 are just terrific. This camera has everything I missed at the Fuji. From Focus Peaking I'm very impressed. Something better does not exist when you're working like manually for macros, etc. or sometimes want to use a lens of another manufacturer, but in which no autofocus on the camera. Peaking is quite a fantastic ability that I never want to miss. Also, the touchscreen on the swivel display is great. Finally, we must no longer laboriously move the focus point with the arrow keys, but just tap it and the camera takes a picture, as you would already know of many modern small digicams. This is great fun for portraits when you can focusing directly on the eyes without moving until the focus points and laboriously build up the image. Just tap and the photo's in the box. These are so cute Gimmiks that I find really great on the camera. She also has several nice scene modes, etc in luggage and even an Intelligent Auto Mode. These functions I go out of the way but basically, because I'd rather just manually steer the camera and then edit photos in Lightroom. However, it has been much said by other reviewers about the programs, so I now did not address it in detail.
Apropos. Who Lightroom 4.4. has needs, keep in mind when buying the camera that an upgrade to LR is 5 Mandatory if you want to use it further, because the camera profile was only introduced in LR 5 and the photos are not recognized in LR4.4. So please once just 70 schedule for upgrade before buying. ;)
Panasonic has the MFT sensor properly under control. I am very impressed by the exceptional quality and low noise performance of the G6. OK in detail can the Fuji not hold a candle, but the Lumix is still very good and the noise performance is significantly better than with my two entry-level Canon DSLR that I had before.
The only gripe with the camera is that the NFC WIFI control of the camera does not work that great. However, there are no points deduction for that because this function does not interest me. However, I have tried, but eventually abandoned and then found when read that there should be a general problem of the G6 well what already many have criticized. I thought I could save me a cable or remote release by I just use my cell phone, but a cable release and tuts, it worked before the time of cell phones and will continue to work super.
So that should be first been my assessment of the camera. She absolutely deserves 5 stars because it is indisputably great. I mage it very much and will stay at the MFT system, because here you get a lot of cheap accessories and should I switch to Olympus times, adjust the lenses from Panasonic also without problems. A class system, with which I am very satisfied.
