That the Nassau concert appears as an official publication, was long overdue. Semi-official bootlegs with large parts of the concert ("Bowie: Live USA") circulated a long time. Even Bowie had 1990 added as bonus tracks for the album Station to Station already live pieces "Stay" and "Word on a Wing" of the concert. And here we come to the crucial point. In the latter publication can be heard on Bowie end yet vocally herumflippen what was faded out early here in this version. The same can be found elsewhere on the live CDs. So it has been a kind of censorship. The lead guitar seems to have been somewhat pushed into the background. This can be seen even at the last release of the live album "David Live" (1975) observed that in the last version in the instrumentation or mix completely sounded different, as even the 1990 version. Another hook on which this concert is the fact that the pieces of "Life on Mars" and "Five Years" clearly derived from another recording. Those who listen carefully will notice that the two pieces over the other sound duller. This reminds again the last version of the live album "Stage" (1979), which compared to the original version, not only the order of the songs was changed, what had to be assessed positively, but also pieces were inserted, the - also phonetically recognizable - other appearances came ("Be my Wife"). An interesting contribution in Nassau concert also fell victim to the scissors: In "Panic in Detroit" of Part lacking in the Bowie vocally mimics percussion, which had been added to my knowledge, anywhere else somewhere - too bad! Well here it is missing so well! Conclusion: A big concert finally available in good sound on CD, but it is unfortunately now reworked as the two other major concerts Bowie from the 70's on CD.
