Finally found very good sound of a housing

The Advantages:

- Very good speech intelligibility in TV sound mode
- Generally very good DSP sound settings, which really make a difference too
- For a one-piece speaker enclosure pretty good stereo mode (addendum below)
- Both Surround decoder on board -> DTS and Dolby Digital (many current Blu Rays have only DTS soundtracks)
- Awesome bass without a subwoofer to a certain Lautsätrke
- Good remote control, very clear and not a cheap check card format
- Very many settings, even though it is an entry-level model (Surround channels can be individually manually leveling)
- Learning function for TV remote control
- Very good midrange and treble reproduction
- The function UniVolume is the first truly well functioning volume leveling function that I know.
- Clear Voice function makes dialogues again a little louder, and really works
- Picture Sound offset can be compensated for
- External subwoofer output (crossover frequency 150Hz), I will also soon be used, as I like to listen to bass with a high level because the internal speaker is not sufficient

Disadvantages:
- No display, display only flashing LEDs
- No HDMI ports
- Generic bit ports, for example, only one SPDIF, I need actually 2
- Housing somewhat clunky
- Correct surround mode only possible if ideal spatial conditions are met (seat not at the back and left and right walls)
- Does not switch on automatically when a signal is present
- Bluetooth unfortunately only with version 2.1 on board (One hears Qualitätsverlusste)

So now I have done a few tests:

In normal TV mode, stereo does not sound as good as the TV mode which outputs the votes as the center of a center speaker, which is more pleasant than in stereo as the stereo image seems a bit to look at the TV space, especially in news ,
In turn stereo music through Bluetooth sounds best (Addendum below). The DSP Mode music, bring me too much reverb effects, similar to a concert hall and exacerbates the low frequencies.
When watching movies, especially on DVD and Bluray player with Dolby and DTS soundtracks, sounds of Movie Mode again perfect. What really surprised me is that it deliver these 2 dinky little Basslautsprecher a fairly deep-filling bass spectrum. An external subwoofer requires you demanch only if you want to really abysmal bass and especially high volume. For low to medium Laustärken, rich also the internal bass to get a decent living room cinema experience.
I have James Bond Quantum of Solace viewed with DTS soundtrack. Especially in the hectic opening scene, but a good space came up again and decent Kinofelling. However, I could logically hear no sound effects from behind, since I have no ideal space (right open area without walls, and sofa in the back to the wall). Nevertheless, the effect is really good, but that's a matter of taste.

Conclusion:
I had almost given up the theme Soundbar because I was really pleased with the previously getesten devices never. The space was missing nahzu completely, the language was difficult to understand, there was no control for high loud / quiet dynamics of many Blu Rays. The basses were often too thin, or the heights too much.
When Yamaha has really a round sound, and can with an external subwoofer then make a spurt.
And this is still the absolute entry-level model, I think at the higher models going even more.

I would recommend if he wanted a compact home theater system or wish to gain TV sound, does not access classic sound bars, but this sound projector, here you really have everything you need.

Addendum:
I need something korregieren respect. Of "fairly good" stereo mode. The stereo mode clearly missing the treble. The sound lacks brilliance, as well, most can be heard through the radiating down woofer. I have managed to remedy the situation by now for the Music DSP mode "TV program" use and the level of all channels have provided to the mean. (Default is the center a little low and the surround channels somewhat too high for my taste). Thus, the sound is not quite as wide as in stereo, but much clearer.

Addendum 2:
I Got A star subtracted because the automatic standby circuit probably very sensitive, and the device therefore switches off although a leiese RCA analog signal. That's a disadvantage when connecting the Yamaha with a DVB-T receiver via RCA and then want to watch TV in the evening quietly and therefore the Yamaha off.
What I have not really mentioned, but I very well find that you can adjust einzelen small Beam speakers in level very well, thus for example can order a couple of steps to increase the center speaker has (which is standard 2 levels below middle position) and so that a much better speech intelligibility.
So in total still very satisfied.
