Split / Second is reinventing the wheel certainly not new and that it perhaps does not want to. Moreover, it will quite easily maintain: It is fast, colorful, effect loaded, entertaining and amusing. Just as Split / Second is presented in the general framework of a TV series, which the Schrotthaufen- and Sensations voyeur delivers best action fare, it will be played. Because gambled in episodes can be pleased with its simple, yet captivating game mechanics the game. In the long run it will be played despite the different game modes certainly too monotonous to play the just not very many routes over and over again to trigger the same events. Quite in between like Split Second, if one really wants to let it rip entertaining: tear down bridges to chase trucks into the air, dodging missiles and to flatten the counterparty with all ships and cooling towers. Framed in an entirely liquid optics with brightly colored light effects, brisk fantasy cars and really successful directional sound effects it delivers a coherent audiovisual package. Scrap orgies has already celebrated Burnout masterfully and quickly is also a Colin DIRT or Formula 1, perhaps Blur's multiplayer even a touch more fun. And all they seem serious and noble than the discreet prollig acting Split / Second, with its episodes-teasers, and quickly cut Kabumm-staging. But what is most important: Split / Second delivers well-crafted entertainment, is solidly made, entertaining and ultimately you get properly what for his money. Those looking for fast-paced action-number, will find something nice here.
