The battery was summoned, an old 8GB Micro-SD was ready and my Samsung Note2 was already fueled by the software. The NFC connection worked right off the bat, the lens came out and PlayMemories launched automatically.
Thanks 1 "sensor images in macro mode a wonderful depth of field (or better blur). The handling of the software is very intuitive, the intervention options, however, have quite limited.
There is a "Smart Auto" and a "Superior Auto" whose difference has, however, not really opened up to me.
In the "Program Mode", you can adjust the white balance and a manual / Unterbeleichtung (-3 / + 3 in 0.5 increments).
When "Shooting with Aperture Priority" or iris can also be specified. The impact on the depth of field can be seen on the phone immediately.
The transfer of image data via Wifi to your phone works quite fast. You can adjust in PlayMemories, whether you want to transfer an image or 2MP the original file. So enough for Facebook and a 2MP image of loosely. Unfortunately I have no setting found with the RAW images are stored. Therefore, so all images are JPG.
Without protective sheath on my Note2 can even clip on the lens with the supplied bracket! Although this is milimeter work and scrapes probably something to the tolerances of the holder, but it works. And a pocket camera with 5.5 "viewfinder is something fine :)
Now it goes first to the nature, to the handling ('re without a tripod two parts, which must be coordinated) to test.
So far I can the device but really recommend it. It makes from the beginning of fun and works as advertised.
Update:
The first shooting outdoors under a clear blue sky Bayern are impressive. Rich colors, sharp images even at maximum zoom, thanks to an optical stabilizer. This camera will surely my constant companion, as they really fit in a jacket pocket and I have my cell phone anyway always there. An ingenious combination
2. Update:
The necessary software PlayMemories Mobile is not as stable as one would desire. 3 complete crashes has been laid. This of course is rather unpleasant if you just want to record a fleeting moment, the phone freezes. Although it has just to keep even the option to luck with the camera on it but optimally is different.
3. Update after a day trip:
Replacement batteries are definitely necessary! PlayMemories annoying slow and I hope it comes out the alternative Camera360 soon in Verson 4.8 with the ability of QX100 support.
Do not expect to get an RX100 II, because the handling of the phone is already special and somewhat lengthy, as one is used to from a Pocket Cam. But I love it to play with the objective to try new angles with my monopod (pictures from 1.8m height are unusual)
And to make it clear again, as one enthusiastic comments probably should not write, without being considered as "paid commentator," I am a private buyer :)
