First urban simulation addictive to SimCity 4

After all the disasters around the city builder published lately (Cities XL - graphically top, gameplay flop / SimCity 2013 - unfinished game without simulation factor), it had long since become obsolete, a new simulation, the last worthy title SimCity 4 Deluxe finally rich water may be made public. And with Cities: Skylines succeeded this the CO-developers absolutely.

Graphically I find C: S significantly more appealing than SimCity 2013 because the look is not as playful and realistic. In addition, it is the details that admire. So there are many beautiful animations and cities act differently z. B. in Cities XL finally really animated and active.

The gameplay convinced immediately. Anyone who already has experience with this game genre by SimCity 4, knows immediately what to do. The basic principle is of course always the same. But the implementation is crucial. Especially convincing is the road. In addition to the many different types of road it is really fun to raise roads. Because they can be placed very flexibly and freely and naturally bent at any angle. In same manner, rails erected for trains or pedestrian paths. Also great is free to create the possibility of bridges and overpasses. Tunnels to add to the game later.

C: S is definitely in need of improvement in many respects. For example, the traffic should have a Rush Hour exist, so a shuttle. In addition, the Sims should use the roads more meaningful. When avenues or highways usually only one used by 2 or 3 tracks, since the cars be classified early on the right track. However, this causes unnecessary congestion, making roads inefficient and looks at that very modest. Furthermore, would a (still) lack of day / night rhythm give the game a new, revitalized image.

But: The basic principle works and addictive. Thanks to the open opportunity to mod the game, there are already many new, created by players buildings, maps and mods that are super easy to integrate via the Steam Workshop. The developer delivered just days after the release of the first patch already for, and the development is far from over. So CO also promises that there will be lots of free updates and DLC. Combined with the Community and their mods could C: S so go the same way as SimCity 4 - to be a long-lasting game that not good cheer to its limits, thus making for years of fun.

Kudos to the developers because of the stability of the game. I myself did not have a single crash or error messages. Despite maximum graphic settings the game is running permanently liquid (with i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, GTX 780). Bugs are virtually no presence (at least nothing serious).

It will be interesting what will happen in the game in the future with them. But I am determined that Cities: Skylines future. And possibly other manufacturers and developers of cutting a slice from this strategy - namely, to the buyer, so to hear the players what he wants to see. And a game to be published only when it's done producing.
