Flink like a bee with minor defects

I bought the printer in exchange for a Brother laser printer and use it from your PC and from your smartphone.
The basic idea was: to use a USB cable longer and instead the anyway existing wireless and simultaneously easy printing from mobile devices such as smartphones. Simultaneously, a duplexer for two-sided printing should always be present, it was always very difficult to date with my other printers.

With the printer power cord and a USB cable comes with. Movable elements are externally fixed with an adhesive tape that you naturally first have to remove. It depends also not to overlook a large paper plate forward that you first have to get rid of the backup process, the toner unit. For this you have to open the door to the unit to be able to take out. This is all described very easy on the enclosed instructions.
For A4 paper you have to pull out the holder in the drawer back, unfortunately, so I watch the back a bit and the paper there is also no longer protected against dust, etc. It would have been better Samsung have designed from the outset for the housing A4 .. ,
In addition to the drawer for the paper supply, there is also a small flap on the drawer for the bypass tray for envelopes, for example.

Power cord ran, turn on the printer, Rödel, Rödel .. finished. The warm-up is not very long, although the volume is not necessarily quiet now but now no louder than other laser printers known to me.

If you just want to print only via USB, connect the USB cable and download the previously universal print driver from Samsung and install. The installation asks everything from what's needed. Done. Of course you can also use the local driver on Windows is installed automatically by Windows, but I would advise against it and always take the printer driver from the manufacturer of the course is adapted to the devices and offers all the functions.

In wireless one must remember that the printer only understands the 2.4 Ghz band. Anyone traveling in the 5 GHz band can not use the printer to the router and must advance the switch.
For wireless printer must first know what it is to use Hotspot and also the corresponding login naturally.
There are just a tool which can be downloaded from the Samsung website. "Easy Wireless Setup" displays all discovered wireless hotspots, where you can then select his and may also specify the corresponding login information. Thus, the data is sent to the printer, the application requires the connection of a USB Kabels.Danach you can remove the USB cable again.
Now the printer is available as a network printer and you can install the universal print driver from Samsung, which then brings the whole setting dialogs etc. Yes, and that was about it. Print work right away, you get the typical settings presented before you print and everything went absolutely smoothly.

Print from your smartphone was not difficult. Samsung offers the Mobile Printing App for Android in Google Play Goals, which should be installed in advance. If the smartphone / tablet NFC support is the establishment almost automatically. Man holding the smartphone only to the printer (on the site of the NFC receiver / transmitter is a sticker) and allow the smartphone all settings automatically fetches and aligns wifi direct one and then print directly over the network. About "parts" can then by any application that supports printing (then simply selects the Mobile Print App from) and it works great!
The printer automatically wakes want to print if an application, otherwise it is in standby mode and works wonderfully.
Of course you can also print on the Google cloud, which makes sense when the printer is not on the network and is operated as a pure USB printer directly to a computer as well if you want to move (so first in the cloud) to print it then bring later on paper.

Also worth mentioning is running on the printer a small web server which can be reached from the outside via the IP. There you can find a website which again displays all printer settings and where you can also update the firmware. To have to come in the Admin Mode is a login by specifying the default "admin" with the password: sec00000 (is that too all over again in the manual which you can download as PDF in German from the Samsung website)

The printer has an ECO mode, there the toner blank pages among others then omitted, etc. saved what exactly happened in the ECO mode you can also set yourself eg. Via the web interface
The ECO Mode can be directly activated on the printer with a button as well as the web interface there is this option. Directly in the driver under Windows I have, however, found no option to the ECO mode to activate from there.
I've noticed that the term is a little paler in comparison to the normal mode, to see very clearly especially in black areas. Gotta then test whether one uses the ECO Mode or not for himself.

Overall, the pressure is very fast, even in duplex mode, the paper is quickly recovered and printed the other side. The printed image is razor sharp without blemish. Even graphics or photos can be printed in good quality, of course, but in black / white as the color laser printer is not a.
One problem, however, there: the second side in duplex mode is skewed with me and so is the duplex mode of limited use. Whether it is a mistake on the duplex unit or located on the paper I can not say yet (am there first with the Samsung Support in contact) up to date.

In summary, I can say that I am satisfied with the printer, and there are only 3 points where I would say that would be even better or which poses a problem:
- Housing is not designed for A4, part of the paper drawer looks out the back
- Wi-Fi does not work in the newer 5 Ghz band but only the 2.4 Ghz band
- So slate catchment duplexed double-sided printing (now resolved, see below)

[Note]
- The latest version of the Universal Printer Driver also has a direct setting page for the ECO mode. This version is called "Universal Printer Driver 3" is displayed when you click in the printer settings dialog to the "Samsung" Tab.
- As I mentioned was the duplexing useless because the second side partially skewed by 1cm and offset printed. When Samsung Support was told that the tolerance is 1-2mm and that is why I sent the printer for repair. Cost me 14.99 because once the package is over 10kg and whether it ultimately then working as intended I will complete later.
One should in any case try duplexing and Request for the same error on the Samsung support the repair.

Was the contact with the Samsung Support on the website extremely fast (within a few hours was answered) and I was also told matter where I should send the printer for servicing etc. The company which repairs carried out (in my case Transimex) has the Printer in one day (!) repaired and sent back again, so that's really great!
The duplex printing now works perfectly, the offset is maybe 1mm .. so that's really a technical nature and quite outstanding.
Due to the very good support for Samsung and the very rapid repair processing times I give the highest rating because of the good support outweighs the small flaws more than on ...
