I ordered these grinding aid, because I started our own kitchen knife on a so-called. "Japanese Wasserstein [1000 grit and 3000]" to grind. Since I've never cut on this type knife, I've bought the grinding aid. Immediately after delivery, I started to work on an old Opinel knife and a typical meat knife with grindstone and grinding aid and am more than thrilled. The grinding aids keep the blade at exactly the right angle, so with little effort quite the blades are incredibly sharp.
Strong buy recommendation for anyone who does not trust himself to hit the right angle from the beginning itself [And for all that it is indeed trust, but rather work a little faster like ;-)]
The grinding aids can also be very easily attached and remove, but still sit firmly on the Messserrücken. It should only be important to make sure to rinse the grinding aid after use with water, lest small abrasive particles scratch the knife back when Neuaufstecken!
