The universe is deep enough, very well built, we see that in the mind of the author it all works very well and is also very well presented also to the reader. What is a little more unfortunate is the lack of depth of the characters and dialogues. There is no real personality in Obrigan which is ultimately the nice hero right and a little naive. His students, who consider each other but both distrust is déjà vu. More the story progresses, the characters tired because they do not have much relief and the action as their récations become predictable.
Too bad for not more digging 4 orders of druids, finally we do not really know what they correspond precisely. The love story between Obrigan and Kalyaste that could have just put some pep and personality to Obrigan is completely set aside. As for the term "Druid", you will find no inserted in a Celtic context, you have been warned.
Finally, I agree with what I've read, a very well constructed universe, a well-imagined story but smooth on some aspects as already seen in the fantasy and flat characters. So I destinerais to a younger audience (for the gore, nothing shocked me personally, it's no worse than what we see on TV) who enjoy it more.
