The problem with Supertramp is natural that they have been in the original version of an absolute quality sound. Even "Crime of the Century" (1974!) Has probably pretty perfect sound (which sounds amazing and timeless Popkunstwerke Supertramp (and the sound engineer) have then been brought back to life). It's probably never been such an effort operated to produce such a perfect stereo image, as in the 70s. Many remastered versions are usually not necessarily better than the original. Often just loud and punchy (up to the clipping limit), but with some compromises to be made elsewhere. For many audiophiles this Remasterei is an abomination. But there are also remasters have where the shots really won much. No idea how Mister Calby did that, but I find this present Remaster really succeeded.
The recordings have significant spaciousness. The impression "to look at a breakwater" is sometimes so strong that even comes live feeling. The instruments are worked out fine and have more air between them, the voices and fine plastic, the drums punchy and spatially.
Still can not hide the fact that there will be such a thing, unfortunately never getting the best remaster.
