The use of a filter will appear obsolete in times of electronic image processing. But with polarizing filters this is not always true. Inspired by an article in a magazine photo and often somewhat dissatisfied with previous images I ordered this filter and used on vacation the same intensity. What does the filter? Well, I do not want to repeat the whole theory (about can be found on the net enough material), but my personal assessment represent here. I am using the filters primarily to a 17-55 / 2.8er lens for landscapes. Here the filter provides for proper adjustment for greatly improved drawing of the sky and clouds, but even more significant contrasts in the green of the landscape. Sure, that's also in software - but what is without a filter when shooting already gone, it can not fetch again the software. The quality of the raw images is increasing, many are out-of-cam already used. (The effect is known from sunglasses - the sky somehow seems bluer, the plants green). Also, I often had the problem with taking pictures of animals in zoos that the discs of the reserve / terrariums / aquariums often reflect and disturbing reflections appear in the image. This effect can be easily rectified with the filter with a little adjustment. I am looking forward to the next tour in a zoo - I think I can use a lot more shots with the filter than before. Tests on a window pane are very promising. To filter itself: I have deliberately chosen a filter with 77mm in order to use it both to the large lenses, as well as to the smaller by Step-rings can. The protective sleeve is neat and functional (the shutter does not hold good, but when using a filter compartment of the camera bag does not matter), the filter itself is very flat (slim), thus also suitable for weitwikligen field without vignetting. This setting is easy, simply unscrewing is through the narrow ring sometimes fiddly. Here I'll help me with a rubber band as a slip inhibitor, which I anyway always have on my flash for reflectors or filters here. The cap is useful to provide additional protection in the envelope, not really suitable to carry around - it goes right off easily and thus probably lost quickly. Basically, I am very satisfied with the filter and put it now on a regular basis. The price is high, but from the experience I have learned that quality simply has its price.
