as an ambitious amateur photographer and father of a lot of small children's out on the road, I was looking for a highly compact camera with good picture and video quality. This should also be well suited for interior shots, so be bright.
Since you on outings with infants eh already has enough stuff there, I wanted no more camera bag rumschleppen with me. Therefore I was looking for a camera that fits in my jacket and in the summer in my pocket. Of course, to have to compromise on picture quality in consciousness.
After searching the internet have initially opted for the Nikon P300. Once home could convince of their strengths and weaknesses me the camera, I have this exchanged because of their weakness against the successors P310.
---------------------------
Advantages of P310 compared to the P300:
- A wertigeres housing. Since the camera has a rough surface and is not smooth, the P310 is felt safer in their hands.
- Noise reduction set in little, normal, strong. This photos are far less than in the vermatscht P300.
- Picture Control available. This sharpness, contrast and saturation (Standard, Neutral, Brilliant, monochrome) can be adjusted manually in each picture mode. By regulating the sharpness of photos are not as over-sharpened as the P300. In addition, you hereby still reserves for post-processing.
- Aspect ratio 3: 2 adjustable in P310.
- On the front of the camera, there is a FN key. This can, for example, will occupied by the ISO function, so that the ISO speed can be adjusted more quickly than in the P300. The selected ISO value is also displayed on the screen (except for Auto ISO has, as you know until afterwards what Iso value selected camera).
- The P310 is also can be set to be at what exposure time, ISO speed already increases. For example, a 1 / 30s in mode aperture priority this time is then held instead to extend this further. Instead, the ISO value is high. Very handy for eg People indoors to avoid motion blur.
- Unlike the P300, the live histogram is always displayed at the P310.
- Spot metering is also possible in the P310.
- The P310 has a mode for manual focusing. Here you can move the focus using the arrow keys. Great shots with poor contrast. There is also a mode for focus to infinity and macro. The P300 has only AF and Macro.
- When auto white balance can be selected normal and Auto2 warm light between Auto1.
- The P310 can zoom levels (24, 28, 35, 50, 70, 85, 100 mm) and the zoom position when the camera is set.
- The P310 has a user mode which is selectable via the mode dial (U).
- When Auto (A), the aperture can be adjusted via the above ring (must be activated in the menu). In P300 you can use this only for the time adjustment in Shutter Priority (S) and in manual mode (M).
- Video: The zoom noise during filming is much quieter than at the P300. In addition, the videos can be cut in the camera. The manual focus mode can be used when shooting.
-------------------------
Other features of the P310:
- The camera does keep very well and serve in the size and style. In addition, I get it still in my jeans pocket. Perfect.
- The button for switching must not be pushed and pushed at Panasonic aside like. This camera is switched on accidentally during insertion into the (pants) pocket. Must at the pressure point of the button you however get used.
- The image stabilizer the P310's great. In wide-angle I get back at full aperture and a 1 / 4s very useful results. This I rarely need the higher ISO values.
- Super display. If set too light also of working out (Attention: on the histogram eighth).
- The flash output can be adjusted.
- The camera is suitable for snapshots of children. In wide angle it is the fastest.
- Beautiful effects filters available. In particular, high-contrast monochrome pleases me well. Also the filters Selective color is great, on this, the P300 does not have the way.
--------------------------
What I like about the less well-P310:
- The warning display for the battery is a joke. Few shots after a no longer full bar is displayed, the camera goes out already.
- Battery comes quickly to its knees. But that's in most compact case today. A second battery is highly recommended.
- There is no reasonable battery charger. Instead, a charging cable must be connected directly to the camera. Take pictures and upload at the same time with two batteries so do not go. Luckily, there are cheap imitations of the original Nikon charger.
- In Playback mode, it takes a while until the photos are displayed correctly.
- It takes about two seconds until the video recording starts (in the P300 is also so).
- No RAW format. Would be useful for corrections. But I did not really missed.
------------------------------
For image quality:
I have many of my photos of imaging. This 95% 10x15. Here also shooting with ISO 1600. For photos of this size were seen shooting from the class. In full view on the monitor can be seen, of course, that one has to do with a compact camera with a small sensor. Who photographed only for full view, is likely to be more satisfied with ISO 800. More you can not expect from a compact camera sensor in this class. Who needs a better image quality, you have to look around for a camera with a larger sensor. These have then other disadvantages (eg speed and video of the Canon S100).
------------------------------
Conclusion:
I have found a camera which does not bother me at family outings, Lichtstark is enough for indoors and satisfy me in terms of operation as well as image and video quality. I take the camera with you and often, and it's fun to take pictures with her. So the best conditions for good photos.
I hope I could help you. Have fun taking pictures.
