Since the diesel in the winter in these short distances is never really warm, I have found under the oil filler cap, a little oil sludge residue. That was reason enough times to clean the engine from the inside before the next oil change.
The car received a standard oil with VW norm 505.01 for buying at each oil change and currently 160t km on the odometer.
Typically, a diesel engine makes these short trips not make much sense, but I could not tear myself away from my car.
Nevertheless, cars are frequently driven short-range and the optimum operating oil temperature is not reached. This sludge may form. Ask the Det RTL II :-)
After the last oil change (with use of LM sludge flushing) the engine runs a lot smoother. The throttle response is more direct, the motor runs more quietly and I loudly board computer also less consumption 0.3L (same route - the same driving style) ca. 5% at 6.0L in the city.
In all, well worth a motor cleaning of interior for cars, which often drive only short-haul.
