Anyone who has read my other reviews, you know that I admit the coffee experience a high priority. At home is an Italian espresso machine for a long time. For foamed milk I gave myself an extra machine. But sometimes I also have not the time to take me lengthy cappuccino. The quick cup of coffee in between is not yet been possible. Filter coffee from the machine, however, does not taste really me.
Purchase of Senseo II
The solution I found when we a Philips Senseo II zulegten for the office. I had previously read many positive things about the Senseo, but could not really believe that such a simple device makes delicious coffee. In addition, I had the coffee and the preparation time of the (more expensive) Tchibo Cafissimo bad memories.

Operation:
The Senseo II requires little space. The removable water tank holds 0.75 liters as standard, a larger tank is available as an accessory. If you switch the Senseo one, it takes 90 seconds for the slow flashing of the power indicator stops. If the water level is below minimum, this indicates by rapid flashing signals the machine. After the warm-up phase, the light stays on continuously by pressing the 1 or 2-cup button starts the brewing process. Only low hum is heard that is not disruptive. A cup of Senseo reading are to 125 ml, two cups with 250ml therefore result in a coffee mug. For this purpose, two pads are superimposed. For the Senseo Presso pads there is a holder in the accessory, which increases the pressure in the system and only 80 ml (an espresso cup) results. Coffees:
The pads are also the biggest advantage and disadvantage of the machine. For no other pad system as many coffees are available, what the sometimes very different comments stated in the reviews. I was also with the taste of the supplied 'Mild' pads not very happy. However, I had tried a few other varieties, and I ended up at 'Senseo Rio de Janeiro'. This variety is flavored subtly and tastes me very well -so well that I have the same Senseo II still grew me privately afterwards. However, the 'City' types (Rio de Janeiro, Vienna, Seville and Sydney) are not widely available. In addition, they are more expensive than regular pads. In the standard packages are 18 pads to 125 grams, the city trains include even 10 pads with 62.5 grams. Converted results up to 20 cents per cup or even 16 euros per pound of coffee! As with all Padsystemen the real money is hereby deserves, so that these devices are not suitable for frequent drinkers. Unlike Padsystemen example of Nespresso or Cafissimo way, you need a storage box for the pads because the pulp is naturally ventilated and the coffee will dry out.
Maintenance:
All parts coming into contact with the coffee are removable and geschrirrspülerfest. The easiest way is, however, to rinse the pod holder and the lower part under running water. All cleaning is done in a minute-if you equal post-rinsing and the coffee is not allowed to dry. The small water tank, removable with only one handle, is for me the way, not a disadvantage: This ensures that there is always fresh water is used. Tip: After use, wipe the lid of the Senseo from the inside and then close without locking the lid. Otherwise, the cover gasket would constantly pressed and would soon have lost their elasticity.
Conclusion:
Another new feature is the Senseo "New Generation", which water tank is greater and their amount of water per pad adjustable. I would classify this -and though twice as expensive machine rather than device for frequent drinkers, they should then prefer a proper espresso machine for cost reasons. Little drinkers reaches the Senseo II. Equipped with the favorite type of coffee, one gets a robust, easy to use machine for the delicious coffee in between.
