+ Fast operational readiness, less than 1 sec.
+ An excellent sharp display that not even "scratched" with me or "squeaks".
+ The viewfinder is great, nice and big, bright and sharp.
+ The use and the menus are very well done.
+ The autofocus is accurate and very fast.
+ The "Auto HDR function" works great, I'm just thrilled.
+ Also, the "Multi-Frame Noise Reduction" created a really useful result Photo (Photograph in low-light set with eg ISO 12800 will thus still well!).
+ The "Panorama" function works amazingly well.
+ In Photos to ISO-1600 in normal mode, no noise can be seen.
+ A cleanly designed and stable plastic housing with non-slip rubber coating, (better than for instance a EOS 550D).
- The relatively small battery is unfortunately out quickly!
- When using a tripod's (with normal head), the display can no longer anywhere pan / rotate.
Summary:
A super-functional, fast, very impressive and handy SLT camera!
Update 28/11/2010:
After now six weeks with the A33, I'm still very pleased with this brilliant camera technology.
One battery charge is sufficient for now so 400 (originally 300) Photos - Viewfinder / Display mixed. Then the battery for approx. 4 hours needs in the charger!
The camera I bought, incidentally, aware of the kit lens SAL-1855 (SAM), since this objective to be not at all as bad as its reputation. I can confirm that, for comparison shots had a "Tamron AF 17-50mm 2.8" plan.
My conclusion: The kit lens is enough for me for this focal length range from, because only at full aperture light blurs are from 18-24mm on the left and right margins to realize otherwise the picture quality is the 1-2 f-stops greater Tamron equal!
The video mode is indeed only secondary for me, of course I still times a few videos taken. - Works pretty well with constantly active autofocus, and the great quality of the HD video can really be seen (on the HD TV via HDMI).
The stereo sound is also quite ok, only you can hear at low ambient noise, the hum of the auto focus / image stabilization Use. But there are several mounted line, which may then prevent the well (because farther away from the camera).
Additional comments:
An afterimage of the viewfinder image only occurs at very-very little light, so do not bother me!
The self-timer is not activated in HDR or multi-frame mode. Had I already important at longer exposure times - not to generate vibrations - when triggered.
Addendum 23.02.2011:
Property me therefore a wired remote (JJC MA-F) bought, with the quiet release is possible.
After 4 months now with the handy A33 I would like especially the great viewfinder image, no longer do without the tilting display and real LiveView! Powerful (heavy) lenses are also not absolutely necessary since even still really useful pictures are possible with ISO-1600.
Addendum 31.10.2011:
After now about 12,000 photos, and determined about 20,000 trips, I'm still totally satisfied with this camera.
An original battery charge is enough for about 400 photos as well.
Overheating has never occurred to me, even if I sometimes do in a photo session as 300 images in 30 minutes..
