For me the best compromise

Too bad that this optical and mechanical quality travel zoom made in Japan is no longer in series. It is only used in the old stock or available. I have used here and buy practically new. I did not consciously accepted the new 18-250 because I wanted to have the lens of Japanese manufacturing and better optical properties. I Scan everything from his hand with a few exceptions, the new 250 mm would be barely usable for me. In good light that works well 18-200. In combination with my A 58 there at the AF nothing to complain about. When the light is right, you can get good pictures of birds, planes and other moving targets. I can only recommend this nice trip Zoom with the foregoing. In combination with a lightweight and high-intensity fixed focal length you have a good portable equipment for almost all cases.
