My previous experience level

I have bought many Headlamps and used for a long time and tested. Starting with these bundles of round LEDs that were in before Crees and SMD-LEDs were installed, up to 1W-performance headlamps.
Important to me was always:
1. Brightness
2. wider viewing angle
3. uniform illumination
4. Normal batteries or batteries

My previous Headlamps all wanted to be lined with AAA batteries, which are correspondingly quickly empty. In one of my lamps, which is nice and bright and I have therefore often used, I have to but every time the battery compartment UNSCREW! Although without tools but with a thumbscrew, but nevertheless already annoying from the second battery change! Those who only imagines such nonsense ... The battery compartment was back at the top, very miserable, if, for example with a free hand to reassign a lanyard, or - want to lose weight - even worse. You basically met all my desires above!
- She wants to be fed with one AA battery / battery. And actually only one!
- It is lightweight and comfortable (elastic band set according to soft, just the way that the lamp just so remain in place). So you can have it for hours on his head and forgets them completely. Very convenient!

- The lamp is bright !!
- She has a wide viewing angle! She has a white Cree LED and two yellow Nichia LEDs. Switching states: Either the Cree lights, or the Nichias or even none at all. The Cree lights already wider than all my previous headlamps, and DASW ill what hot. The yellow Nichia LEDs but really illuminate the entire human field of view. So the specified 140 ° get there. In this headlamp here, however, the yellow LEDs light up from the entire basement evenly and gently. You can see everything! Even colors are still fairly recognizable. But at larger distances are no longer appropriate, the yellow LEDs of course. But they are too weak. In the dark you can read them well (for a normal white headlamp would MUCH too bright!), But who does that.

Ideal are the yellow LEDs for keypad backlighting in the pitch black! For example in the summer on the balcony, etc. The yellow light illuminates everything from glare-free and does not disturb the visibility of the TFT! This is excellent.

Criticism

1. The center of the white Lichtgkegels Cree is visible brighter than the rest of the illuminated surface. I would have liked more homogeneous. But that may be in a weakening of the battery for the benefit, because then at least in the center has "bright light".

2. The lamp has a dimming function. That's my feeling completely fürn A ... so unnecessary. If I want to bright light, I turn the Cree a. Do I need soft light, I choose the Nichias. These two brightness states cover all areas of application. The dimming function is mMn a confusing gimmick that was probably only built because an electronic chopper stepped up the 1.5V battery on the operating voltage of the LEDs and a dimmer function can be realized with this component. Due to the excess, and incorrect operation provocative, dimming I wanted only awarded 4 stars. But when you press the button only short, one solves the dimming never made (addition one must the button for about 1 second and hold). The yellow LEDs could be brighter. But that would be "whining at a high level". The lamp is good. Very good! And it's all around so practical and so surprisingly handy that they still deserve clear 5 Stars! With this lamp and an 8-pack of AA batteries from a discount of 1.79 you have on vacation two weeks definitely light at night. Probably even 4 weeks. The best compromise in terms of headlamps for the ordinary daily life, I've ever found! Namely, by far! Small, light, comfortable, bright, wide distribution, easy to operate. Every household and in every car.

I support this my review today, after almost half a year of regular use, yet at every point!
The brightness can be proportional to the voltage of the energy source slightly, but it is still by far the best headlamp that I've ever had! And for about 20, -. could not be better!
