For Soundbar quite well, but some drawbacks

Although I'm actually not so convinced of the Soundbar concept, I wanted to test this set time after it was cut off at Stiftung Warentest 12/2014 with the top grade 2.3. But unlike there I see no sound bars with each other, but see the devil sound with what I'm used to from reasonable loudspeakers (Nubert Nupro A-100). This is my review probably a bit more critical.

When you install the sound bar has only the subwoofer is not included. But the manual pairing is described, and then lit and the corresponding lamp on the subwoofer.

Then on to the television. With HDMI ARC, the set switches to the TV on and off, and the volume is controlled with the TV remote control, fine. The often criticized crackling when you switch, there are, unfortunately, on my Samsung TV, and it's a bit annoying. Even with Youtube and other apps it occurs there even at almost every action, because probably in between some short fails the sound signal. If the sound is not quite synchronization with the picture, one should look at the TV or receiver to the menu item "Audio Delay".

With Samsung TVs you must also once set the correct audio format, Samsung's "DTS Neo 2: 5" is only artificially extrapolated Surround Sound, so the bass is thickened and spongy, for TV, it should be on Dolby Digital are (if available) and DVDs / Blu-Rays to AC3 or DTS. Then there rummst also neatly in the bass. For other TVs it could apply equally that you have to set the sound format even properly; can you check it then via Info button on the remote Devils. Then, when, for example, "DTS" appears in the display with a movie, everything fits.

As for the bass: He's really good, even if not perfectly balanced. It is more than enough oomph, but the tonal connections of the subwoofer to soundbar is not perfect. You can tell that the centers are underrepresented, that you probably wanted to hide something with high gambling subwoofer a little. After all, he's not playing so high that he would easily locatable. High / Low Pass, crossover etc. can not adapt, but only Bass / Treble and subwoofer level. The latter for already stood with me strangely to "+2", maybe I accidentally pressed the button? Anyway, subwoofer center position "0" is sufficient in any case thick, otherwise it will be too much.

A disadvantage of the sonic sound bar is, and I had thought in advance: The sound comes to the center and the center of the television, the "stage" could be wider. Logically, if the Soundbar is narrower than the TV, of course you reach no stereo triangle, and the sound sticks pretty much in the middle. A concept related disadvantage of Sound Bar / Sound Plates in general; they're just almost something like the antithesis of a 5.1 system, which you should be aware. Other sound bars will likely have this shortcoming.

Conclusion: For soundbar the sound as a whole is neat. The effects in movies are good, you can be in a rented apartment definitely einhandeln trouble with the neighbors when you turned up on loud. With reasonable speakers or a good 5.1 set on a receiver / amplifier or not to bring out more sound, but also paid more.
