This album is terrific, but it contains the complete Count Five LP "Psychotic Reaction" plus all the singles of the band and a demo version of their greatest hits and single, just "Psychotic Reaction". Today, as much will rants about punk and garage rock and countless bands the legacy of Stooges, MC5 verwursten etc., the die-hard lovers of this style comes to the Count Five past hardly, they were a true-garage rock'n'roll Force in the mid-sixties a surprisingly earthy-dirty version of the then fashionable Beat up that was quite tinged "Punky". The virtuosic rehearsed songs you can hear clearly out the preference of the band for British colleagues ala Yardbirds, Them, Animals, however, the Count Five were not lame imitators of those bands but very independent. Not all songs are absolutely amazing, but alone the ingenious "Psychotic Reaction" makes the purchase of this CD worthwhile. In addition to the Sonics, The Seeds for me the best American Sixties garage-punk troupe! Psychotic reaction is guaranteed while listening !!!
