The summer album in mid-winter with partly irritating noise Freakadelica folk of Animal Collective-early days (before "Strawberry Jam") final short work makes, pleased by Beach Boysigen canon singing, blood-pounding-in-the-ear-rhythms and endless stylistic quotations between Brian Wilson, the late Beatles, Tropicalia, dub, R & B, Afro-Brazilia, Dead Can Dance and Cocteau Twins. The bestgelaunten Dschungelcamp Campfire Sing Alongs (in Acid) are fortunately well sun blinded good-humored, breathless psychedelia-Pop as the glorious harmonies to Panda Bear's 2007 solo album of the year "Person Pitch". Here, the two AC-singer Dave Portner (Avey Tare) and Noah Lennox (Panda Bear) complement each other perfectly and together never sounded better.
Playing tips:
"My Girls", "Brother Sport", "Bluish" and "No More Runnin '": the sprudelndsten, most refreshing, most melodic moments of the album; these songs could easily pass for updates of "Pet Sounds" sessions. Beach Boys 2.0!
"Lion in a Coma": just and additionally with a spacey didgeridoo Sample
"So Frightened": excessive, polyphonic choral singing with arcade bonus deposit
"In the Flowers": explodes after two and a half minutes in wonderfully oblique fairground / carnival sounds (who wants to hear them perfectly on a full album: try it El Guincho's CD "Alegranza"!)

And why ever "Merriweather Post Pavilion"? Marjorie Merriweather Post, the founder of General Foods, Inc., has donated a ton of money for a variety of cultural events. Finally, an open-air bandstand in Maryland / USA was named after her.
