Venice is more than lagoon, gondolas and St Mark's Square, but also weighing impressive music. A selection of works from baroque concerts gathered Albrecht Mayer on this album - it get this very famous (The Winter of the "Four Seasons") as well as lesser-known pieces to be heard. Nice that in selecting the pieces a harmonious yet diverse mix was found. And always there is the graceful and so differentiated oboe playing of Mayer, that pulls the listener in the spell. A CD with me a regular place at longer car journeys has - but is also often heard at home. Highly recommended.
