Stations with Bakerloo, Colosseum, Humble Pie, Rough Diamond & the Hamburg Blues Band and my feeble recollection also quite time making music with Jack Bruce - Professor Dr. Clem Clempson now highly topical released his first solo album - with delicate 64 Lenzen.
On board are all freaks of his musical peer group who can not be bothered to pension, including a mini-reunion of the semi-legendary Stone The Crows.
What is on offer?
DC in the opener, I experience a fusion of Mike & The Mechanics and late Genesis, strongly grounded through a fine slide guitar playing, intoned by a cross between Pete Townshend and Peter Gabriel. Following is a hybrid of Blind Faith & Cream. After that, it is wonderfully percussive, Maggie Bell roars old way into the microphone, the organ schwurbelt and Professor swings. It follows the only total failure of the album, a yawning boring, traniges instrumental piece, unfortunately, considered the longest playing time.
Then Blues-Time. British Blues (Rock) mind. Here the professor demonstrates why only Brits could transfer the legacy of African American blues in a so-called (British) Blue Boom, the development of rock music not insignificantly influenced (Hendrix's another topic!).
Especially in the slow blues "Waiting For The Day" shows Clempson, accompanied by swirling organ sounds, all of his academic class that enables him also that to be able to rely sorely limited tension of Blues loose end - straight ahead in the (moderate) jazz rock of " Leopold's Great Escape ", another instrumental, this time with Groove Factor.
As a fast-retired balance may like to be drawn - and so is the old warhorse "I Do not No Doctor" thrown into the ring. But not just like that, but as radio-groover with the vocal support of Maggie Bell & Chris (I and pension - Pah!) Farlowe.
Here is another jazz-rock treat for wimps, including any Mini-Moog gimmicks.
Finally, we are adopted by an intersection of traffic, Mike & Mechanics, medium Winwood and Clapton, as I personally would like to hear it today.
Overall, we get here, in my opinion, definitely good and hung from Classic Rock with Blue edge and jazz Spritzerchen which naturally nothing more lifts off its hinges, but just damn much fun.
Here are absolute expert at work, the need to prove themselves and the world no more.
And yes, a great songwriter was the professor never and will he no longer be. But still it's nice to be able to hear here a total of 9 originals, partly by the way texted Pete Brown, who had already been operating for Cream known.
