Six years after their last album, and the separation in 2009, is now available with a new Wonder Days ready longplayer. In the recording of the album the longtime rhythm guitarist Ben Matthews lacked due to, now vanquished well, cancer!
And what is on Wonder Days heard. Now, the well-known and still perfectly functioning Thunder blend of blues, hard rock and occasional Soul influences. The Soul influences can be heard especially in the vocals of Danny Bowes, who leads with his warm voice through the songs. Morley's guitar playing reminds like to Page and Led Zeppelin, which is not the worst reference to safety and also to avoid in this genre is hardly sector.
Amazingly different, however, sounds the song The Prophet, which just reminds the rhythm ago to Iron Maiden, the pace is a bit more subdued than we know this from the British heavy metal veteran ago!
With Broken the band again a big ballad at the start, which is of Bowes voice and the initial piano music, to the furious finale completely succeeded!
Wonder Days is more than good album with great songs, and the band sounds as if they had never been away!
