It always makes me happy when NMA does something new; longtime bassist is unfortunately since the end of 2012 no longer there because he wants to spend more time with his family after 30 years of continuous tour, the studio's last Christmas completely burnt down with all the instruments and the old and new master tapes, the founding drummer sadly passed away in 2004 and also the long-standing active guitarist Dave Blomberg has recently quit his job in the army, but Justin Sullivan as lead and creative mind has to be me the promise (never stop making music), met once more, and the new band members, which now already are around for a while, have managed to perfectly implement and continue the band's sound and their own style.
On the concert of the album they played the old hits, as if they had never played anything else and as if they had been there then, and the new songs are compared to the previous album again something back to the roots and there are still new and I'll they still have to listen to me a few times to a final judgment, where they are to sort in my private NMA album ranking.
Overall, I am very satisfied and I am glad that the band soon after 35 years of history and many adversities still occurs powerfully and has once again reinvented itself and yet is recognizable. New Model Army New Model Army is that you can hear in every song and yet the pieces are completely different.
Few bands can claim to spontaneously come to mind only Depeche Mode and REM as bands, of which one can say the same, and in which sound unlike NMA already a few songs very similar to a few other :-)
Again: only New Model Army are always different and yet always recognizable even more so.!
