True antenna diversity you get only with the original radio, since the switching of the antennas must be made internally.
But there are adapters that the diversity still as much as possible to make benefits (of Hama adapter is not one of them). Simplest feature is the marking, which is one connection to what color. If no identification available, one can assume that both antennas are simply merged.
These adapters have good frequency filter incorporated, bring the white connector from only a part of the VHF band and the beige connection to another part of the VHF band plus MW / LW.
