Declaration on the star award:
2 pieces awarded for:
+ Design, feel, appearance, weight
-> Good wearing comfort on Hangelenk because the clock is very easy
-> LED sensor on back does not fall further on
-> Does not build as high as that of the Garmin 310XT (despite LED sensors)
-> Look like right away (red-black color) and is also alltaugstauglich (as opposed to 310 XT, which is a real bomber at the wrist)
+ Easy operation
-> Similar to Apple's control of older Ipods per click wheel; explained basically by itself
-> Clear presentation of all the necessary functions.
3 deducted for:
- Imprecision
-> GPS measurement of speed. 20 seconds / kilometer faster speed setting displayed as on the Garmin 300XT in direct multiple comparison.
- Unreliability
-> Pulse welding with major problems and in some cases total loss (albeit TomTom noted that welding is not to have a negative impact)
-> GPS signal is found partially within 10 seconds. On other days, not minutes, despite uncovered sky. Once the GPS signal was lost during a run komplet
- Poor evaluation function
-> Little data in the clock read, after and during the run (Garmin offers here more)
-> Online portal is clearly structured, but useful representation of the data rather run for beginners
CONCLUSION:
Overall, Garmin has with his years of experience and the resulting sophisticated technology and software in the lead. However, TomTom has a promising concept with modern Pulse, which still, however, needs to mature before it can endanger Garmin seriously. This clock Eigent in my opinion for beginning runners or runners which basic functions would have been time without much Schnick-Schnack. For serious runners, I recommend further Garminuhren (or other competing models of Suunto example)
