The new VSX-923 is with me now for several weeks now in use. The unit I have respect not through Amazon because it unfortunately was not available and I needed a new device strongly. After an Onkyo TX-SR-606 had previously in use, which has a completely different sound than the Pioneer, may be too little for some, the bass setting on Pioneer in the basic setting. A manual adjustment is however nothing in the way. Unlike the Onkyo, one very exaggerated sounding bass had (often disturbing coded in radio broadcasts or with DOLBY EX films, are the Pioneer depending on audio format a much more pleasing, higher-resolution sound for the best. Is DTS or DTS-HD Master films the sound output with the necessary pressure. With an Audio CD or MP3, it depends on the boxes to. Small boxes are likely to actually few bass develop, but front floorstanding speakers provide a great sound. All other functions are, in my opinion top. The only drawback is the remote control. The thousand buttons are real scrap. Since this is a network receiver one uses the device best with the free app for smartphones. Everything works great. The network streaming functions (via LAN) are super ( Internet radio). All in all, I am using the device more than satisfied.
