Light years away from the what it out there are still far away from all the hustle and bustle, the stress and anxiety. And you find yourself somewhere in Iceland ... the rocky shores, the green hills, the sea, no people, no nothing ... just the music. This landscape can best describe the music of Sigur Rós. This music is honest and touching me. I got this album yesterday and consider it in advance for a masterpiece. 6 star or maybe 7 would be ideal, but Amazon can unfortunately only a 5 awarded.
What should I write yet another pathetic? I just say: Buy! Sigur Rós are a must for every music fan. No band sounds like you ... and that's a good thing. They give comfort and hope, touch and are perhaps the only real alternative for all those who appreciate a little honest and artistic search in today's music. And therefore the review sounds so depressing because it's the music. Sorry. But Sigur Rós are among the few ways out and alternatives to this increasingly feindseeligeren and hectic world outside. For that reason alone they deserve my respect. So thank you or Takk! Album of the Year of 2005.
