The cleaning station
The cleaning cartridge can be used in the Smart Clean PRO cleaning station, which can be used as a charging station, use by pushing the side lock buttons and the housing moves upwards. Following the successful insertion of the housing is pressed back down. The power supply can be connected directly to the cleaning station. If you want to charge the shaver, you put him headfirst into the station and can lock the connector. Loading and cleaning works at the same time and the status is displayed directly on the display of the Smart Clean cleaning station. Full charge takes about 1 hour and then you can shave about 50 minutes. However, the shaver can also upload directly from the AC adapter, which when traveling is just very convenient as the cleaning station is very powerful. The cleaning cycle takes a little longer, unfortunately. An hour clean and dry 4 hours. It should be noted that the shaver is mostly dry inserted into the station for cleaning. The level of cleaning is also displayed on the screen and at the end with a check mark. The cleaning cycle takes me personally too long when one has the power consumption in mind, besides, he was not completely satisfactory. Unfortunately, after that were still scattered hairs in the shaving heads. So one has to pre-cleaning before the cleaning brush definitely the shaver.
Shaving with the Philips Shaver Series 9000
I, as a passionate wet razor, was especially curious if the razor, which you can use both wet and dry, my beloved razor can make the rank in dispute.
The shaver is good, by the ergonomic shape, in hand and slip, even when wet shave, not by the many grooves.
The shaver has three different Rasiereinstellungen, suitable from fast to slow, and therefore also for sensitive skin. The new technology of contour recognition through variable movements of shaving heads in eight directions also helps.
I tried the first dry shaver and longed while after my razor. I felt that I needed a lot longer for shaving and beard were longer after the dry shaving, than with my traditional wet shaving. However, my skin was not red, indicating a gentle shave.
Through my quick beard, I could try the razor wet the next day. For this, you wear as usual on the shaving cream and moistens the razor before shaving. The shaving heads have to be cleaned while shaving regularly under running water. The shaving had a satisfactory result for me, unfortunately, I reach the same result with my razor faster.
I noticed during testing that the shaver unfortunately has its problems, with longer whiskers. The shaving takes a long time and unfortunately, is not as thorough.
The Bart Tyler I have also tried. This can be easily set on the shaver top Insert and the desired beard length (0.5 mm to 5 mm) by a small lever. Here I could find anything negative. The shaving is very gentle by the rounded ends of Bart Tyler.
Conclusion
With a daily use, I can recommend the razor because he really thoroughly and carefully shaved, however, for me the question whether it is worth the high purchase price of 450 euros. The shaving heads have to be replaced for about 65 euros every 2 years. And the cleaning cartridge must be replaced regularly (3 pieces about 20 euros). A conventional wet razor is certainly cheaper to maintain and has had the same effect on me. For longer whiskers unfortunately the razor could not deliver, satisfactory result for me and the cleaning station needs a pre-cleaning of the razor for a thorough cleaning, which is to protect the shaving heads.
The shaver is suitable due to the different comfort settings for sensitive skin.
For avid electric shaver this is certainly a gem. Before Philips Shaver Series 9000 I have tried several other electric razor and was completely disappointed by this. In this I have seriously considered using it further, but I am still stuck with my razor for a longer test, I'm hereby much faster.
