Wrote "The Eternity and a Day" (eg with Bruno Ganz) to film, this album is much more than mere film music. Nevertheless, it is film music - in particular sense: interior pictures on the rise to so simple as great melodies, with large or small Streichensembels Cast (sometimes even an accordion). Always have the melodies and arrangements supported by a great simplicity, perhaps barrenness, which emphasizes the melancholy mood of the songs. More than film music! A great album full of gentleness and Feinsinningkeit.
