German rock music at its best: "City" take a stand

Silver Lining (Audio CD)

Customer Review

The last CD "At Window 2" was a very good CD. By this, not only on the original "At the window" must be measured this wonderful band from Berlin. The first impression when listening to the new CD was good. "Silver lining", a typical pleasing City title, reminiscent of older. One notices the same, continuity is given. Then come: "Because the earth is a sphere," a glorious title with a spirited chorus; "In times like these," a powerful rocker, who among other things has geopolitical issues relating to; "My area" a nice tribute to the fitted to earlier East Berlin; then "Who knows," here show City that they can combine rock and texts in einziartiger way. Then the best is: "Tamara" a beautiful, loving tribute to the singer who died in 1996 Silly. Tony Krahl sings as beautiful as only he can sing. The other songs are worth listening to, inter alia, "seven days" what you know of the group BOT. Besides "Tamara" the outstanding song but "brothers and sisters". Provoke City, siding with the East and sing "clean juchhuh into the trap / Germany! / Peanuts for all / Big Money for you". An impressive title, even if you can argue about the content. But a song for an intensive reflection on the problems of our fellow citizens in the East. After repeated listening, especially the texts one can only say: a masterpiece.
