Get Buck

With G-Unit, it goes in recent years always steeper downhill. It all started with the unloving produced album by Tony Yayo, then led continues over the weak "The Massacre" by 50 Cent, "The Rotten Apple" by Lloyd Banks and "Blood Money" from Mobb Deep. I had 50 Cent's crew actually already written off, but then Young Buck came up with a very successful sign of life. He has turned away from the typical G-Unit sound and produced an album with Dirty South Flavor. This can be seen right from the start with the really hot track "Say It To My Face". A beautiful, hard and dark beat, which is backed by quiet choruses. The whole is topped with vocals by Buck, 8Ball & MJG and Bun B. Really strong is also "Get Buck" which by Polow Da Don produced. With plenty of power and steam thunders the instrumental, very good raps about the Young Buck without help from others, especially the chorus is top notch. That he can do other things, proves YB with "Buck the World," a mid-tempo song and entpannten whose hook is performs wonderfully by Lyfe Lennings with his slightly raspy voice. The same applies to the profound "Slow Ya Roll", whose refrain is taken over by Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, which sounds very neat. The only appearance of a G-Unit member there at "Hold On", for which Buck has secured the help of 50 cents. The beat this comes from Dr. Dre, is quite chilling, but far below the things that Dre has once produced. Young Buck shows up best in form and on the mic and Fifty's idea is quite alright, its better sung Hook comes as his rape. Much better is because the bomb "Pocket Full Of Paper" with Young Jeezy aka The Snowman. For this song DJ Toomp conjured a really fat crunk beat, the going really horny and every club brings to overflowing. The performances by Buck and Jeezy are absolutely great, so this is by far the best track on the album. Wonderfully relaxing is good for the Smoker anthem "Puff Puff Pass" with Bob Marley's son Ky-Mani. The instrumental is simply insane chill, which is partly due to the trumpets in the background, but also to the brilliant chorus, the two together have grossed. A fantastic combination. Towards the end of the album there's two great productions of Jazze Pha. One would be the cool "4 Kings" with TI, Young Jeezy and Pimp C, the other "I Know You Want Me" with Jazze Pha himself. Both songs are managed from start to finish and simply be fun. The rest of "Buck The World" is a good average. It gitb no really bad track, but also no more real highlight. With his second album shows us Young Buck, he is the best member of G-Unit, even, or perhaps because of his Dirty South Style. Lyrically it moves at a very high level, be sure flow as good as ever. After "Get Rich Or Die Trying" "Buck The World" is the second best G-Unit album, since their major deal with Interscope Records. Fans of Gorilla unit expected in spite of their different sounds enjoy it, Dirty South lover anyway.
