I know of no more convincing record, True, Pogorelich takes broad tempos but what else? Byldo is played correctly (the crescendo should be barely audible) and the lighter parts are of great poetry, they sound like little bells. Instead of dismiss such is played in a standard time, while the catacombs are played twice as slow tempi ... This variety is ideal.
For me the best version, absolutely, but I just heard the CD Marlyn Frascone .... seems this superb approach work in a new and exciting angle (it does not make you his study in Moscow!) I must deepen on that side.
