Therefore, I had initially ordered new SATA DVD drives. But this I had to send back because they were unbearably loud. Thus, the continued use of older DVD drives made sense. However, most comments on "SATA to IDE adapters" but mainly a deterrent. So I was not sure if I would still be wasting time and postage, if I would try this adapter.
I chose this type as the other adapters are rigid and are more likely to cause a micro-ATX case only physical problems.
The adapter works fine. But is required for the detection of IDE drive that the drive jumper is set to MA (Master). The jumper positions CS (Cable Select) or even SL (Slave) avoid detection of the drive completely.
All that is the correct setting of the switch necessary is connected to which end of the adapter the SATA or IDE drive.
But no more than that.
I really liked that all appropriate cables are attached (SATA, power cord).
I would recommend this adapter well.
