The review [Excellent, crispy sharp lens on the D600 & D7100!] Said that the new Tamron 28-75 namely be sharper and he AF quieter and faster. That's what I can confirm to my Nikon D800.
Other positive points are the size and weight, giving the D800 body a pleasant weight distribution and handling.
At 35 mm and 75 mm at maximum aperture 2.8 the focus is not at all motives intoxicating (see pictures). From f 4 the focus then for all Brenweiten is significantly better.
The lack of image stabilization bother me but so much that I do not use aperture 2.8 and my Nikon will look 24-85.
UPDATE:
I have a Nikon 24-85 VR now tested a bit and am excited about the VR (Vibration). Images with 1/40 at 85mm from the hand are not the least bit shaky. The AF is compared to Tamron Although quieter but noticeably slower. In my tests, the focus was in 99% of cases.
The sharpness at maximum aperture is definitely good on the D800.
Now, however, I lack the "Macro" function and the 2.8 aperture of Tamron: D
As everyday lens that Nikon is 24-85 VR in my opinion better suited due DERS VR and the larger Brennweitenbereichts.
