I had the choice between DT880 and DT 990 (of 600 ohms) and have decided essentially me for the DT 880. Here a few key words why: - The DT990 is the famous "sizzle" in eg vocals vocalists;. the DT880 me this seems to be less pronounced - The emphasis on the bass was not as important to me; the bass sounded the DT880 for me a little "cleaner" The spoke to me more for the DT 990: - The sound seemed to be a sense of openness For both speaks: - Evidently good workmanship - Comfortable to wear - Of course, good sound
Both good listeners, but "in doubt", I would rather recommend the DT880 as the DT990. I tested with my old Denon integrated amplifier from the 80s and with a sound card with built-in headphone amplifier. This has two amplifier stages: 32/250 Ohm and 600 Ohm. Even the 250-ohm gain I did not feel too weak.
