Good binoculars - rewarding purchase

The 12x36 II I tested against the 10x42 L.
The 12x36 has a very good value for money and gets my recommendation for price-conscious buyers. It has very good optical properties, the glass behind the L-stand little: The field of view is slightly smaller, the picture is not quite as bright (to notice only in the immediate direct comparison). The image stabilization is identical very good. If you've had an image stabilized binoculars as this, one would never have one again without stabilization. The eyepieces of 12x36 are better, shame on Canon for eyepieces on 10x42 L. The batteries for the stabilization last long enough.

What is annoying on the 12x36 something unfavorable position of the switch for image stabilization in the center of the top of the binoculars.
What is even more annoying that the switch all the time must be kept pressed in order to keep the image stabilization enabled. A no-go, which was the deciding factor to buy the 10x42 for me (the eyepieces I have rebuilt).

Who can come to terms with the switch in the middle, receives a really good pair of binoculars, which represents the golden mean between size, weight and function for me. Yes, there are lighter and smaller binoculars, but with whom you do not see nearly as much as with the 12x36. A worthwhile purchase. A pity that Canon over the years that there is a version 2 of this glass has, has not yet made any improved design for the switch of the image stabilization. Hinged lid for the objectives would also be desirable.
