My primary purpose is to mount to the bicycle handlebar. Unfortunately, breaking the camera very often from the recording. The same problem I had with the predecessor model HDR-AS15, which is why the device was repeatedly sent to a Sony Authorized Repair Facility. I got the camera ultimately no findings back. Then I was given as a replacement, the HDR-AS30.
I'm using a Sandisk Ultra memory card. Did I even bought a second card because I'm first starting from a defect map.
Now for the (suspected) cause of the error:
By quite rigid mounting to the bicycle handlebar obviously be short shocks occurring in road operation, so passed on to the camera, causing contact problems with the storage medium and the recording breaks off.
I have had the camera mounted at two different positions (handlebar and stem). On the advice of the workshop, I also tried a Memory Stick, has brought nothing.
I suspect that the multi-card slot favored the problem. The camera can be USER with both SD and Memory Stick.
Test shots in which the camera was quiet on the table or were conducted in hand ran absolutely without problems.
Bottom line:
A great camera, but can not be used by the above-described drawback for me.
I hope that in the future Sony models on this multi-slot for the storage medium dispensed. Memory Stick is dead.
