As the seemingly endless range of compact cameras almost overwhelmed, the choice was easy. In addition to countless YouTube videos and community contributions stood at the end then the appropriate candidate firmly:
Canon IXUS 220 HS
Why I have chosen for this compact camera and why is it interesting for motorcyclists. The selection criteria were not only the feature, the picture quality and of course the price of things like video quality and form factor in the foreground.
Featured
The Canon provides both an intuitive "Easy mode" that adjusts all settings to the situation, as well as a variety of modes that can affect image effects, delay times and color values. So a complete package that meets virtually every need.
Image Quality
What already noticeable at first photos: The wide-angle lens. With 24 mm is more on image than you are used to. I was surprised at how big this effect is wide. I was able to photograph for the first time a space entirely. In addition, the first pictures of my Fireblade could convince not only by a consistently solid image quality.
Video quality
With 1920 x 1080 pixels, the IXUS is a Full HD camera. The sensor delivers good videos, which are recorded at 30 fps. As an additional feature, the Canon can hold on me 210 frames per second, but then only in 360p.

Form Factor
The 220HS is small! Roughly comparable to the EU driving license. In my view, this form factor is the perfect choice if you just want to store in the jacket pocket or under the seat the camera.
The Price
At Media Markt even for 177 euros, at Amazon for just under 145 euros and at various Ebay dealers for about 140 Euro Camera for its scope is a good offer.
Conclusion
I'm after a few days trying out and playing with the camera happy. Although the sensor comes pixel technology, our approach to the "big" bridge cameras, but unfortunately not all of the image quality.
Who has not used any DSLR camera or high-priced Bridges advance will hardly notice the difference. Of course, in these cameras is much better, but it is primarily in the Canon IXUS 220HS not about these special qualities.
Generally it is for touring by motorcycle, on which small Full HD video and great spontaneous shots are needed, definitely a very good choice. (Recommended Class 10) for the price of just 150 euros with bag and SD memory card does the Canon their duties very well and above all quickly.
