It is the year 1997. If you had asked at that time by a group of names Limp Bizkit, it would probably be encountered only on collective shrug and questioning faces. Thanks to the New metal-founders Korn (and Tätowierkünsten frontman Fred Durst) came to record an album for their chance this time small and insignificant band from Jacksonville. The producer was none other than Ross Robinson, who also clearly impressed upon the shekel his mark. According to the rough, unpolished, aggressive, wild, twisted, sick - that's how to describe this CD and is thus in sharp contrast to later works of soft biscuits. Through the whole album through to Durst's rough (and very distinctive) Chanting and his (for newer fans probably disturbing) scream attacks draw (yes, it may sound funny, but the cap carrier screams in the truest sense of his soul from the body) and DJ Lethal (former House Of Pain) futurischte effect orgies. The man at the microphone also tells us in his very personal lyrics of failed relationships and other problems with the female sex, loneliness, isolation and false friends who only exploit it or simply annoy with their presence. The trio Borland, Rivers, Otto is doing also very convincing. Correct Neuland enters the band, although at no time, however, they lead the continued what started bands like Rage Against The Machine, Helmet, Downset, Clawfinger, KoRn and the Deftones. Limp Bizkit kreiren their own style, the highlighting of the set of many inconsequential 08/15 Crossover / New Metal bands. Altogether there are - as already mentioned - on this LP for Limp Bizkit conditions pretty in the face, a board chasing the next, yet the change does not is lost: we will rock the five from the outset tidy los ("Pollution", "Nobody Loves Me "), elsewhere they increase only slowly into (" stucco "," Counterfeit "," stalemate "," Clunk "," Stinkfinger ") then you hit back to calmer tones, as in the semi-ballad" Sour "or the brilliant completion of the disc ("Everything" - an alleged (only partly recorded) jam session that shows all facets of the combo a quarter of an hour and a true listening pleasure is), then the handset is a 2 minute Kracher (the is provided not in vain with the warning "demo") to cut in the form of "Leech" around the ears. For party atmosphere that George Michael Cover "Faith" makes. A song that was the breakthrough the band in 1998. With "Indigo Flow" also comes still a collection of thanks and greetings (including the Deftones, Korn, and God directed) added, which would like to thank the five from Florida with their forerunners. Only the "Intro" pushes one on, the guys are probably fanatical Christians and are seemingly on a missionary crusade. After more than an hour is then final and comes out a good board that offers a high rock factor and a lot of variety. There is no single failure on the album and beyond this long-Grille is so consistently good that it is very difficult to highlight individual songs as highlights. However, it lacks the real innovations and the lyrics could tolerate more depth, so it is not enough to a higher rating. Fans of the more recent publications are Limp Bizkit thereto probably find little favor and should at least check it out before you buy, because this album is catchy as well as not. There occurs serious ass! Rating: 8.0 / 10
