Our last kettle was of Rowenta. We have fairly soft water. The Rowenta had a large fine meshed strainer withheld even smaller particles. In addition, the circumferential rim of the screen was elastic and composed cleanly. Newer kettle often have no sieve or a coarse-mesh wire screen. Removable screens newer kettle were too imprecise held so that the lime can incidentally. Unlike this Philips kettle: It also has a fine mesh screen which can be removed for cleaning. However, the screen is tiny compared to the Rowenta so that has to be relatively frequently cleaned or descaled in hard water, otherwise the water fleißt bad. Well, that window is the water level indicator. It is slightly dull and you can well watch the water level. Better than the crystal-clear water level indicator at Rowenta. At handling there is nothing wrong.
