Since my old router often made problems, needed a new. Because of the many positive reviews on TP-Link devices and also of course because of the low price, I ordered me on Friday the router with USB WLAN stick. Saturday afternoon arrived the unit. Quick configured and the splitter using the supplied cable connected to the router. Durchgemessen No ADSL Sync :( cable and found that the cable was crossed. Really should not matter, but so be it. Cable resoldered and new test. No success. After a long search, I then came in the product description of the router TP-Link 8960N on the note, the only Annex A supports this device, but in Germany ANNEX-B is used. The 8960NB router supports Annex B. What now? Return? Thanks to another review on this device, in which were the same problems, it was pointed out that you can flash this router with the 8960NB firmware. No sooner said than done ... and lo and behold, the link was there :) However, the web interface menu was totally messed up. So everything again set to default, and reconfigure. And now everything fits.
It is said, which is not the configuration of the device suitable for absolute beginners, but if you know a little and also ordered the correct device, you have a super machine for the money.
It would have been helpful if Amazon would indicate in the product description on the this device is not usable in Germany. After flashing with a different firmware version will surely not officially supported.
