To resolve the confusion: the dock here offered directly from Amazon has USB 3.0 ports. Who ordered this dock at a third party and no USB 3.0 draufhat, got palmed last year's model (2012), but that has a different type designation! The offered USB 3.0 model has the type number A7E32AA.
A star deduction there is that the analog audio output quite a lot of interference received from the adjacent signal lines (the docking connector is just everything just out of signals in confined spaces next to each other), that is, even in low powered speakers you always have some noise at the analog -out. Could the business users do not bother, for me still a factor, especially since the dock has no digital S / P-DIF out. Of course you could branch off via the DisplayPort theoretically the digital audio signal (eg with HDMI converter and audio breakout box). Or just hang better sound card via USB.
Also interesting: you can hang the power supply from the dock directly to the notebook - the specifications regarding output voltage are the same..
Conclusion: 4 stars, almost 5, if that were not with the audio quality - but the built-in sound card in the EliteBook is generally not necessarily hi-fi standards.
