Good for some tasks

I was looking for an Access Point My old AP adopted to the new should work with battery.
I am the system admin for networking and my customers there are only LAN, not WLAN.
Then I had a battery-powered access point just right.
The EA W100 is very easy to use.
Provided there is a DHCP server in the network, the AP needs to be plugged in and is good.
Located on a sticker on the housing is the factory default SSID and the default password.
The two points I wanted to change immediately and likely meet with the biggest gripe with this unit.

Without SSL and password protection presents the configuration page.
Thus, the power of the AP can be shared only with vertauensvollen people.

The range of the network is good, the processing makes a solid impression.

Have times the port scanner nmap on the little box attached.

Open ports from the WLAN:

From the LAN side:

To me it was not possible to connect me via telnet to the device, not from the LAN side of from the WLAN.
The name server is accessible from both sides, responding real fix.
The Konfigpage is not accessible from the LAN side, very good for an AP without password protection.
Trivnet is related to minidlna. Release data in both directions, I think is not so great.
I do not care, I do not intend to use this feature.

With this device, comfort and ease of use are a clear priority over safety.
