An essential function, route planning is very limited and works unlike previous devices no longer on the PC but only on the TT GO. The limitation applies to only 3 permissible intermediate points on the route to the destination. That was (and is) so from the product description is not visible and very unsatisfactory. What is meant is not to navigate from A to B (is probably the most commonly used), special ride (or similar local detours, attractions) on certain points from A to B. Who knows it, knows about the world of difference.
Furthermore, I can also on the device does not save route (went earlier on the device TT GO 720T). So if I want to plan a multi-day trip with the necessary intermediate points, which is only indirectly. Thus, the intermediate points are generated as a favorite and the route entered prior to departure, of course, with max. 3 intermediate points. The route for the next day must also be programmed.
I did for my TT GO 720 previously done everything at home on a PC and then copies only on Navi, namely for 5 or 6 different routes. Since each route was named, stored and, if required, the desired route at Navi selected and set off. The very lack.
Honestly TOMTOM, has anyone really something in mind? And if so, what should I choose?
But now to the positive attributes (the 4 stars have been awarded so aware):
Navigation:
Just good and right. Fast enough response in "Unauthorised route changes also very fast. GPS signal is found very quickly. Input rather somewhat sluggish, possibly located on the touch screen.
LIVE Services:
HD Traffic sensational and zuverläsig, also in the city. Receiving the LIVE services in urban areas and on the Autobahn very good, otherwise different but overall satisfactory.
Local search, eg for restaurants, museums, movies, etc. worked very well.
Find listed on Expedia Hotels near or in a city of description, evaluation and prices may also be helpful to work at least in my home town. Price is only true if one adds the so-called bed tax itself.
Forecasts for a week can be retrieved for any, contained in the card location.
Highlight:
In the area of the destination, the nearest parking during route planning in advance are offered for selection. So you can start the desired address or even just one of the parking spaces available nearby. The removal of the parking to the target are thereby pre-specified.
I hope this is enabling the targeted route planning again. Some think that it (not directly address memory on the PC, etc. Update directly via Internet only) to the changed conditions of handling equipment or software is. I find not very conclusive because the programmers have to work hard just once. Where is otherwise the USP of TOMTOM or pure navigation hardware?
Despite all the criticism and the delayed completion of the functions by TOMTOM I recommend the device because it has led me reliable (even abroad). One star deduction resulted purely from the lack described above.
