I bought this coffee, because the old machine slowly gave up the ghost, so out of necessity. A machine with thermos should do the trick, but it should not cost too much give. The only requirements were for me basically a thermos and a capacity of at least one liter. This is fulfilled here. The machine is cooking a full pot of coffee in about 8 minutes, which I find also quite OK. In addition, you can of course thanks to the drip protection already refer coffee while the machine is still running, if you have it because in a hurry. Even if you forget to switch off the machine, which is not so tragic. Even after several hours is no excessive heating or the like to note, as with some other devices. The thermos has a surprisingly good insulating effect, which quite a few hours (loose half a day) holds as a full pot of coffee hot. The lid of the pot has a little switch, which you can press with your thumb down to pour out the coffee. Otherwise, the pot is really tight, you can turn it upside down and shake even without anything coming out. The filter cartridge is removable, so you do not even have to get their hands dirty, or burns on the hot filter when it is thrown away. Now on the criticisms. The first and most annoying problem for me is the mentioned drip. Basically, this is of course a beautiful device that yes, most machines these days anyway. But the implementation is lagging behind somewhat in this device. The whole thing is designed so that the pot bottom and the lid of the machine from above press this protection. Only when both are given, the coffee runs into the jug. I can not quite explain why one has the so released me. The problem here is that is that you have to be very careful, which also includes the cover really perfect. Is this only a few millimeters high, blocked the anti-drip and eventually running the course filter through and the whole broth is poured over the table. Although the lid can "lock" which only works tolerably well. Meanwhile, I'm gone over to put something heavy on the cover and possibly the like to clamp a piece of cardboard or under the can to ensure that this whole mechanism really is live. Is best to think next to the machine and waits after power 1-2 minutes until you can be sure the coffee is actually starting to go through. Even then, it is already happening, that it has stopped in the middle and the filter fully running again. This is of course every time a considerable effort and correspondingly annoying. A second point of criticism concerns the pot. As I said, the insulation effect is good, but of course only when the lid is on the jug. This screw can also be placed only after the coffee has finished. Many other devices (in this price category) is it embedded in the cover a type check valve, so that the coffee can run even with closed lid to the pot as soon as you but then takes the jug from the machine, there are no leaks. In addition, the spout of the jug is designed so that it only works well when the lid is screwed on it. Otherwise you have to pour very slowly and carefully, otherwise a lot bib. That's when filling the machine has no removable water tank, of course, also a bit disturbing.
Conclusion: For the price you can do with the device certainly not much wrong. For occasional home use, the machine is probably quite suitable. However, if several pitchers go through coffee a day, you should VLT. rather spend another 10 more, and pay attention to the above points.
