Positives:
- Screen responds excellently, multitouch with max. 2 fingers works flawlessly (more than 2 points are not recognized, but when one needs it anyway).
- Size of 8 inches is ideal for all those 7 inches act too small and 10 inches are too big. The resolution still appears sufficiently, was perfectly satisfied.
- The brightness is sufficient for indoor operation, but could be higher. The colors are okay, that "white" does not look white, but a little "dirty". Whether that bothers is a matter of taste, for the price that's fine.
- Access the full AndroidMarket possible without problems (only enabled in Settings Google applications), thus offering wide app.
- Operation of the surface quite quickly as a rule (see below). Videos of SD card / USB flash drive running smoothly.
- Battery appears generously dimensioned term of videos still barely 4-5 hours (probably a problem of energy management of Android), but absolutely fine for me.
Negatives:
- In landscape mode for horizontal tilting noticeably less optimal viewing angle (just 15-20 °). I feel independed the price as too little. Landscape thus annoying on the couch or in bed, when to pay attention to a certain attitude. Vertical no problem, there may be several people in Landscape recognize everything side by side, and on edge to use the instrument very well as EBOOKREADER (incidentally is the preinstalled eReader app quite well). Read might have been possible also lying on the couch, but works "Lock Screen Rotation" not on edge, too bad ...
- Also with me just a 1Ghz (instead as indicated 1.2 Ghz) processor installed by reading the device specifications with various programs well.
- Frequently, the unit allows a pause for up to 15 seconds (also like to Android 2.3, possibly worse adaptation to the device lie?). Videos on Internet browser hapern being too (despite flawless faster wireless connection). At times, reacted with me the homescreen is no longer, resulting in an unintended restart after an error message.
- The camera app will occasionally Werder front nor rear camera, then it works perfectly again. With Skype they are not approachable, also some other app has problems.
- Surface is not flat (frame around the display offset), thus some gestures erschert eg wipe from top to fade in the menu.
- No search hardware button (the magnifying glass with the), also not provided by software at least on my machine (Update probably not available) => by some app limited to use.
- On / Off switch processed badly (one has the feeling that this already falls when pushed), perhaps you should refrain from a slide switch. Incomprehensible, because otherwise all the other buttons are processed absolutely perfectly.
- The speakers are simply too low, giving after prolonged use sometimes just a noise again (after you restart it goes again).
HDMI / Micro USB I have not tried.
Conclusion:
For the price there is nothing better, you get quite a lot for this offer. But you have to live with restrictions. The tablet is a whole still quite suitable for everyday use, and sufficient for many application scenarios, if you can live with occasional minor dropouts and the angle constraint (given the price one can not expect more but). Little things like the inability to freeze the screen rotation edgewise, diminishes the enjoyment of the product and could be easily remedied by the manufacturer well. The seemingly only a 1Ghz processor is installed, although 1.2GHz are given, is surprising (if not the elite programs recognize this just wrong). From the speed it appears nevertheless sufficient.
I had a mobile product for train rides, sought to further education etc., with not a small screen (preferably> 7inch). Ultimately, I wanted the little quirks of Odys Xpress not live, and would rather spend more money to test another product Acer Iconia A100 17.8 cm (7-inch) Tablet PC (NVIDIA Tegra2, 1GHz, 1GB RAM, 8GB Flash memory, Android 3.2). Even though 7 inch appear relatively small, maybe it does indeed gone the better resolution. A pity that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 and 8.9 in Germany probably not be available or will be. 10 inches, I feel just for a tablet to be too great, since you can then almost grab again to netbook.
If anybody know another more significant 8-inch tablet, I am pleased with a comment.
