by now using the Acer Aspire E5-731 catchy-P9KZ 43.9 cm (17.3-inch) notebook (Intel Pentium 3556U, 1.7GHz, 4GB RAM, 1000GB HDD, Intel HD, DVD, Win 8.1) silver I would like to make my review available.
Perceived quality / packaging
The Acer Aspire E5 is processed in my opinion very fair to good. It creaks and wobbles nothing on my machine. The package is the unit sufficiently large enough and contains the notebook AC adapter and various signature sheets (guaranteed sheets, quick start guide). Thus, everything is included that is needed for the first step.
Pictures with perspective and bottom side to see release in the product images. These have not become particularly well due to the non excellent light. To this end, before a small apology. Nevertheless, one should can see the viewing angle roughly.
Furnishings:
The first start-up is easy. Connect and start Notebook with the AC adapter. After that, the configuration starts (Select language, Select Country, Windows ID Entering if not available must be a created). This process takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. Depending on whether you already have a Windows ID calls his own, one which already downloaded apps from the Windows ports are loaded onto the computer. Of course this can again increase the time.
I for one have then once let all updates and run runtergeschmissen the programs that simply do not interest me. Acer has naturally preinstalled through collaborations with other companies similar apps on the laptop that you either like or you do not. Often these are any trial versions which are for cash to the full version after a certain time or after a certain period to lapse and then just have to be purchased for cash, etc.
Here one should decide for themselves whether they want this so. I for one do not need most of the preinstalled apps and throw them down about it. This makes the system a total of slightly more slender and slightly faster.
System performance:
The Intel Pentium 3556U with its 1.7GHz course not the measure of things. This configuration should only be set if you can do without playing on video editing, photo editing or elaborate graphically rich games. The configuration is more suitable for the target group e-mails, surf, 0815-games and occasionally watch a movie. Of space should for the time being no shortage because the integrated hard disk 1TB (5,400 revolutions per minute) can hold data on. This is however not a SSD, but also is understandable at this price. The integrated 4GB of RAM are also not great much, but for the audience up sufficiently.
Touchpad:
It works so far already, but the zoom in or out, or even scrolling on a website hooked but every now and then. This is sometimes also at the respective websites and not only to the system. But is liquid in my eyes but something else.
Connectivity:
There are 4 USB ports on the notebook. 2x 2x 2.0 and 3.0. All USB ports are of course backwards compatible, while of course USB 3.0 ports to reach their true potential only with a USB 3.0 hard drive.
The integrated webcam is perfectly adequate for normal video chats with 1.3 megapixels. Those who do not just want to present its furnishings, so that should be adequately served.
There are still a VGA port and an HDMI port on the side of the notebook.
Acer has installed a Bluetooth 4.0 module. This is laudable, since many new devices already Bluetooth 4.0 provide. If your Device to be connected only via Bluetooth 3.0 equipped (as an example), so you have to do not have to worry, as this is of course backwards compatible.
Screen:
This is 17.3 inches (43,9cm diagonal) and a resolution of 1600x900 pixels quite well. He is not anti-reflective. For this you can look at my pictures from different angles.
Battery:
According to the description, a 3,220 mAh Li-Ion battery (4 cells) is installed. According to the manufacturer this is up to 6 hours. Depending on the activity I'm on about 3.5 hours (see movie) (checking email, surfing the Internet) and partially on up to 5 hours come.
Incidentally, the battery is not installed in the plug housing. For this you can take a look at the bottom of the notebook on the picture gallery.
Speaker:
The stereo speakers are mounted on the bottom of page (this pictures there as well in the gallery). The sound is, as usual for notebooks, rather tinny and without bass. This, however, can not hold against the system because it is more due to design. Nevertheless, the maximum achievable volume is very neat.
Drive:
This is an 8-fold DVD drive. For converting to MP3's or watching movies more than adequate.
What I have noticed?
- The notebook weighs 3kg with its course properly. Unless one is constantly in the area rumschleift (not literally take), it should rather have a relatively fixed place in the home.
- The keyboard has a good pressure point. This is not too short and not too long especially. Therefore I find the pressure point just writing very pleasant.
- There is an SD card reader on a notebook. Thus, the camera must be connected directly to the laptop is not mandatory. This is now standard, but I wanted to point out.
Conclusion:
Depending on usage, the laptop has a good to very good price / performance ratio. I would have personally liked a bit more memory still deliver a total of more rounded thing, but with the entire package, you can get by as an office user really more than right. Those who want to work a lot with a total of photography or video editing, you should absolutely take the variant with a larger processor (i5) and perhaps a SSD / HDD combi normal eye.
Therefore, this package offers in my eyes quite well for young people to who want to immerse themselves with their 1st www notebook in the wide world of want and of course therefore also create presentations and the like.
Thus I forgive a good combination 4 stars. Who wants to work more demanding, may virtually like to do it 3 stars.
