I have taken the printer 10.8.4 under OS X in operation, although it was written on the American Amazon page that the printer with this OS does not function. That is nonsense.

As described I have the printer driver and the MF Toolbox is installed, then connect the printer via USB. Everything worked, except for scanning. Here I always got the error message "Unable to communicate, error 2100010". Googled short and since we already have one star deduction:

To scan, I have to turn off the printer until the scan mode, and select "Remote Scan". Then it works. I can live with it, since I already have to insert the document to be scanned, comfortable is different. When HP it works even without pressing buttons. Everything else works much as described.

It is fairly quiet and switches itself into standby mode. The display is illuminated but monochrome.

Conclusion: The device does what it says, the scan function is but poorly resolved, hence the one star deduction. Whether scanning on Windows is just as awkward I have yet to test.
